Who operates Kleana

Kleana is operated by Cabanga Platforms, a division of Cabanga Africa (Pty) Ltd, a company incorporated in Botswana and Zimbabwe. References to Kleana, we or us mean that company.

What Kleana is

Kleana is an introducer. It publishes pseudonymous listings and, where a fee is paid, introduces a household to a cleaner. That is the whole of the service.

Kleana is not an employment agency in the sense of employing anyone, is not an employer of record, runs no payroll, holds no wages, and is not a party to any agreement reached between a household and a cleaner. It takes no percentage of any wage, at any point, on either tier.

The fee

The household pays a once-off introduction fee. Listing is free for cleaners. The fee is confirmed with the household before contact details are released and nothing is charged automatically. The fee buys an introduction; it does not buy a placement, a guarantee of performance, or a person.

What verification means, precisely

A Declared listing means the person confirmed a working email address by a one-time code and accepted the Professional Charter. Nothing else on that listing has been checked by us.

A Kleana Verified listing means that, at the date of checking, a person at Kleana sighted an Omang or passport and spoke to at least one former employer to confirm tenure. It is a record of what we saw and were told on that date. It is not a prediction of future conduct, and it is not a guarantee. Both parties remain responsible for their own judgement.

Nothing is published until it is confirmed

Submitting a form on this site saves nothing. An entry is written only once the emailed code is returned, and it carries no Kleana mark until a person at Kleana has reviewed it. Kleana may remove any listing at any time, and a removed listing disappears from the listings on the next sync.

Going around the platform

Kleana's fee is charged once, so there is little to gain from avoiding it. Where a party is found to have used the listings to identify someone and then deliberately arranged around the introduction, Kleana may remove that party from the platform.

The Charter applies

Use of Kleana by either side is conditional on acceptance of the Professional Charter, which forms part of these terms.

Limits

Kleana provides the platform as it stands. It does not warrant that any introduction will result in a placement, that a placement will succeed, or that any party will perform. To the extent the law allows, Kleana is not liable for loss arising from an engagement between a household and a cleaner, both of whom contract directly with each other.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under the law of Botswana.
