Botswana ยท Shops, offices, guest houses and one-off jobs

Premises and projects, one door.

Two kinds of work come through here. Regular cleaning at a premises, on set days at a day rate. Or a single job with a start and an end - a move, a clean after the builders, an event - run by a crew Kleana calls from the board. Tell us which one you have and the rest of the page follows from it.

Which of the two do you have?

The two are priced differently and run differently. Pick the one that matches your job and the rest of this page follows from it.

Part one

Regular cleaning at your premises

How it works for premises

Before you open, or after you close

Everything on the business side is live-out. Set days or set hours, priced as a daily rate, and the cleaner goes home afterwards.

What a premises actually needs

Scope, timing and how it is priced

A shop, a salon, a surgery, a guest house or one room with a desk in it. The deal is the same as a home, the hours and the duties are not.

How a business books someone

  1. Register the business and accept the CharterOne-time emailed code, same as everyone else. Your business name and address are never published.
  2. Decide the windowBefore you open or after you close is the usual pattern. Say which on the request so only cleaners who work those hours reply.
  3. Filter for premises dutiesGlass, washrooms, floors and reception are filterable. Live-in does not apply to premises and is not offered here.
  4. Pay once and get introducedThe introduction fee is once-off. There is no monthly commission on a standing arrangement.
  5. Agree the day rate and the daysSet it in writing before the first shift, including who supplies materials.

The fees

Once. Not every month.

This is the whole difference between Kleana and a cleaning company. There is no retainer and no monthly percentage. You pay once to be introduced, then you deal with the cleaner directly.

Tier one

Standard introduction

Unlocks the contact details of a Declared cleaner so you can speak to her directly and agree your own terms.

  • Her email has been confirmed by a one-time code
  • She has accepted the Professional Charter
  • Identity and references are her own account, not ours
  • Once-off fee, confirmed with you before anything is unlocked
Tier two

Kleana Verified

Unlocks a cleaner whose identity document we have seen and whose former employer we have spoken to ourselves.

  • Omang or passport sighted by us
  • At least one long-term reference called and confirmed
  • Confirmed tenure published on the listing
  • Higher once-off fee, confirmed before anything is unlocked
Add-on

Contract drafting

Optional. A short written agreement for the premises - days, hours, duties, rate, keys and notice - so the arrangement is on paper from the first week.

  • Written terms both sides sign
  • Covers key-holding and after-hours access
  • Priced separately from the introduction

A template, not legal advice. Have it checked by your own lawyer if the arrangement is complicated.

Part two

A one-off job, start to finish

What counts as a project

One job, a start and an end

If it needs several people for a short, defined push rather than one person on set days, it is a project.

Describe the job

Tell us the shape of it and Kleana comes back with one price for the whole job. Nothing is charged before you have agreed it.

What is on site

Start to finish

How a project runs

A crew working a large empty space, one up a ladder at the window, one scrubbing the floor, one carrying a crate out
01You describe the scope

What the job is, how big, what condition it is in and when it needs doing. No need to work out how many people - that is Kleana's job.

02Kleana quotes the job

One price for the whole job, worked out from the scope and agreed with you before anyone is booked. Nothing is charged until you say yes to the number.

03A checked crew is assembled

The team is drawn from the board, with a named lead. Everyone on it has accepted the Charter, and the Verified ones have had an identity seen and a reference called.

04The job is done and signed off

Kleana runs the job on the day and you sign it off at the end. One point of contact throughout - not a group of strangers to marshal yourself.

Not the same as an introduction

A booking, not a placement

Two people meeting at a house gate, a phone between them showing the contact details

Most of Kleana is an introduction: you find a cleaner, pay once, and carry on with her directly - the arrangement is yours to run. A project is the opposite shape. It is a single booking with a fixed end, priced for the job and managed by Kleana while it lasts. If what you want is someone every Tuesday, that is not a project - see For homeowners or For offices and businesses. If what you want is a team for one hard job, you are in the right place.

Are you a cleaner? Project crews are called from the board. Put yourself forward on Who is hiring.

Rules of engagement

What you agree to as a business

The Charter binds the premises exactly as tightly as it binds the cleaner. Using Kleana as a business means accepting all of it.

A homeowner and a cleaner sitting at a table, both signing the same page
01Pay what was agreed, on time

The rate published on the listing is the rate. Late payment is a Charter breach, not a cash-flow matter.

02Keep it professional

No comments on her body, no propositions, no touching, no expectation of anything beyond the work agreed - from you or from your staff.

03Agree changes before they happen

Extra rooms, longer hours, a second branch, stock-room work or anything outside what was agreed is renegotiated, not assumed.

04Provide the basics

Clean drinking water, a place to sit and eat, use of a toilet, and safe access to the premises at the hours you have asked her to work.

05Give notice

If it is not working, say so and give notice. Businesses that dismiss without notice can be removed from Kleana.
